Booking Now for Spring 2017

blog 2017
It is an inescapable fact that spring in coastal Nova Scotia comes slowly…very slowly.
Influenced by the cold waters of the North Atlantic Ocean our soils stay cool and water logged for weeks, sometime months longer than our inland neighbours.
There is however a simple and cost effective solution to eliminate this disparity in growing seasons, install raised beds.
Raised garden beds are just that – raised above the surrounding soil. Filled 18 inches deep with a loamy rich soil allows raised beds to drain and warm quickly providing the perfect conditions for early germination and growth.
Once sprouted many of our favorite greens and veggies such as onions, kale, spinach, radishes and lettuce to name a few not only thrive in our cool spring weather but actually prefer it.
Join us in this our seventh year of assisting individuals, families, schools and communities in growing your own fresh, nutritious organic produce.
So what are waiting for, contact Home Harvest Kitchen Gardens now and we’ll help you become one of our urban farmers this spring.
